The teeth in the necklace have been selected so that the largest tooth is in the middle and the smallest are close to the clasp, and they are interspersed between the round and oval beads. Closest to the clasp there are only the round and oval beads, and no teeth.

Butterfly necklace

This necklace is made from black agate, onyx, amethyst and sodalite beads and nuggets threaded on waxed string and knotted together. The large carved butterfly is eye-catching and serves as the center of the necklace with the trailing threads with the smaller pendants below.

At the first sight, the necklace looks all black, but at a closer look you can see the blue of the soldalite chips, the purple of the amethyst beads, and the shifting colors of the larger nuggets. The silver-colored toggle clasp is also in the shape of a butterfly to match the larger stone butterfly.

Fresh-water pearl and lapiz lazuli necklace with sodalite charm

by monika on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

The the white fresh-water pearls and the rectangular lapiz lazuli beads create a nice contrast to each other, and the heart-shaped bead cage with a round sodalite bead gives the necklace a very nice focus.

It is not a very long necklace, but it is still too large for this model ;)

Here is a copper chain necklace made from a simple copper chain and a few larger copper chain links.  I have a dded a couple of flat zebra onyx rings, some smaller round brown and black speckled stone beads that I don’t remember the name of, and a few copper filigree beads. The pendant is made from a large, flat, slightly curved zebra onyx bead.

Wooden bead necklace with carved wood pendant

by monika on Thursday, November 19th, 2009

I am always amazed when I lift this wooden pendant, because it is very light and weighs next to nothing. The flower shaped beads in the necklace are made from bone, but the rest of the beads are all wooden beads of different colors and shapes.

It is a string necklace with knots between each bead, and the clasp is a dark copper toggle clasp to match the colors in the necklace.

Chain with mookaite beads and metal leaf pendant

The reddish brown twisted, oval mookaite beads add a bit of color to this necklace. The chain is combined from short lengths of a thin triangular chain, single links of oval angle cut chain, single links of a heart chain, and a flower shaped link. A large metal leaf pendant completes the necklace and adds to the length.

Sodalite is a very nice semi-precious stone, and I love the mix of colors. This is a closeup of the pendant.

I have also made a matching bracelet for this necklace. The bracelet is made from the same materials, with the addition of the padlock and key toggle clasp.

Bian stone and lava necklace

Bian stone necklace

Bian stone necklace

The spearhead shaped beads are made of bian stone,  the smaller cubes in between the larger beads are lava beads, and the toggle clasp has an antique silver finish. I really like this necklace, even though the spearheads are a bit spiky at times…

Dark chain with light jaspis leaf

Dark chain with light jaspis leaf

A necklace made from a thin, black chain with larger slightly lighter links in the shape of flowers and drops and a carved jaspis leaf pendant. I am not sure what kind of stone the beads in the necklace is, but I believe it is also jaspis. The beads are alternated coin beads and twisted oval beads.
